I Find Comfort Buried Deep Within History’s Pages . . .

Lately, I’ve been doing a little research. Not for anything in particular just to understand some things. I started researching early American poets and from there I read a little about The Reign Of Terror . . . You might know the Reign of Terror as the French Revolution, but it really wasn’t. It happened somewhere in the middle. The people of France rose up and heads rolled . . .

Louis XVI and wife Marie and other leaders walked the stairs at the beginning. And as always, history remembers those events with purpose . . . Life doesn’t always happen with purpose in mind. But the soil ran red . . . Somewhere between 18,000 and 40,000 . . . But I bet it was far more than that.

And somehow they did some statistics, how? Anyway, they say that 8% were the upper crust, 6% were religious sorts, 14% middle class, 70% were those that just got in the way, crimes and the likes . . .

You see while all this was going on fear had grasped the country, so many people starved. I surely can’t imagine such a time . . . And those that started the Reign of Terror, they too met their end at the gallows.

And then came, Adolf and his reign, his numbers were 8 million . . . History repeats, again and again.

And to come to think of it, all those that live by the sword, do indeed die by the sword. Clichés and you know they usually are true. Maybe not literally, but then smite works in mysterious ways. Rest assured . . .

This year is our King George’s last year of his monarchy. Thank the good Lord. I’m not sure what comes next, although I do know it can’t be any worse then where we’ve been. Change is in the wind . . . Life as an American is riding the wave and we will again be so very proud, together as Nation, again, a proud nation. The Brave Few. Dan

I’m Tired Of Watching CNN

I’m tired of watching CNN, I’m tired of all of it . . . My mom always said, if you’ve got nothing good to say, don’t say anything at all. And so I’m avoiding all newspapers, news channels and blogs. Mine included.

I wish for a moment we could stand back and see where we’re going . . . If Corporate leaders are to run the whole world then understand that you’re either an asset or a liability? A liability is always cut, an asset is merely property . . .

Make sure that’s the path you want for you and yours to dance to. No matter who you are, you’ll be owned by corporate interests . . .

Oil prices are at an all time high . . . I own a GMC diesel 3500 . . . Today I got a letter from a Dealership. They would like to buy my truck. Sure they do. I take great care of it and that truck is not one of those tiny foreign models, it’s a big bad boy. I always tell everyone sincerely, I could pull your truck and your house with that bad boy. It’s true. Not very far, just off its foundation.

And now gas prices are going up . . . Hey, what about diesel? Folks, diesel has been paying your way for the last five months. Soon you’ll be paying the same as me . . . How’s it feel to be screwed? The same people complaining are the same ones that said Globalization was a good thing, the same people that said labor prices are too high . . .

The truth will hurt you more than me. Business will always seek lower costs, anyway they can get them. But you and me, whether you own a business or work for one, we are not a business, we work for a living. Lower wages mean lower wages for everyone. Oh and did you the American Market is tied to American Wages? When the market can’t get high prices, it has to lower its price . . . Even if it is below cost.

In the long term no one wins . . . Short run, those at the top will win, that is until it turns against them. And it always does. Greed destroys everyone and everything around it.

No new taxes . . . Right. Wisconsin just added a dollar to a pack of cigarettes to be used for, I forget where . . . Oh, to pay for children’s health insurance . . . It’s like, if you could kill with a gun, then everyone with an index finger, we’re going to sacrifice that for the whole . . . You won’t mind too much if we cut off your index finger, right? Could you visualize that pile of index fingers . . . ?

I’m not sure if it’s the Republicans going nuts or the Democrats running amok? Doesn’t matter much, they’re all the same. Does anyone remember a party held in Boston several hundred years ago? I wonder what that was all about . . . Tea, wasn’t it?

The truth . . . The end doesn’t justify any means. Both sides believe it does and this has to stop. That’s what got us into Iraq. That’s what got Bush into power, thank you Mr. Clinton . . . That’s what got us into Vietnam.

Everyday we live on a path, an American path . . . We used to know what that meant, what it meant to be American and somewhere we figured that the world needed to know who we were . . . Silly, we have become those we fight, those that hate. The Brave Few. Dan

What is Censorship . . .

What is Censorship?

The action of stopping the transmission or publication of a matter considered objectionable. So the dictionary states . . . But censorship is any act that stops the normal activity publishing to readers . . . And it’s funny how so many just don’t get it.

As a writer I have a problem with all censors. Not because some things are of a nature that offends, but because it is easy to earmark anything as being offensive . . . I have always been for the little guy

. . . In the late fifties and early sixties. It wasn’t a proud time in the U.S. We had the so called communist threat and we rounded up citizens as subversives, jailed them and even put two to death. Freedom of speech is not a right but merely words. You see it works like this, what ever the majority wants, it gets. The Constitution was penned for those of us who sit outside the masses . . . And a Senator from my state started the whole witch hunt. Something I’m not very proud of.

I’m against all needless rules. I don’t believe the majority is always right. If we were, we would never go to war for unknown reasons.

And then there was Vietnam . . . A war that was a police action, to stop the spread of the plague called communism. And for all the trouble we got a wall in Washington for the fallen. Now we can go and feel the pain, get an etching of a fallen friend. And our leaders figured out that the draft was what was wrong with that war . . . What is a draft? Conscription, forced service to fight in the name of our country. We have always had conscription until now.

And do we learn . . . The Russians got their butts handed to them Afghanistan. For ten years they fought until they fell . . . And now we find ourselves there also and in Iraq . . . Turkey is fighting on their border. We don’t count the dead that die in hospitals . . . We use contractors to kill and the media … And today in Pakistan a leader was slain . . .

And I was looking back on this year, I realized that this is a year I’m not so proud of . . . From Imus, Michael Vick, Jones, Nowack, Paris Hilton, from all of these a common thread exists . . . We have become a nation of haters. And the internet is quickly becoming just another boiling pot of thought. A place where the haters can get together and do what they do best . . . I feel the pain that the hate is spreading. I hope I’m wrong, but then look at Blog Catalog . . .

I have reached my Limit on friends . . . The reason is server space. But that doesn’t hold water. It doesn’t because all they had to do is eliminate dead links on our friend’s links . . .

And someone said it was their servers they should be allowed to do what they want . . . Friends that’s so true, but who’s making them do anything different. Words and actions are two separate things.

They’ve done it in the past. But pressure, you know how that works. The one that sits back, get s**t on. And I’m not really mad at the act, I’m mad that we are so quick to throw freedom away . . . I call this censorship. Maybe most won’t see it that way. But anyone can justify taking a stand that causes a writer not to write. You see, I get requests all the time from members of BC to be their friend. I can’t . . .

The funny thing is that all the others with their small numbers of friends don’t maintain their friend lists . . . Too lazy I guess.

Anyway ever sense I been at BC, I have been getting job offers from the Judicial System . . . I wonder? My thoughts . . . Blogging, the internet was developed by the DOD in case of a holocaust . . . All computers wouldn’t be wiped out . . . And during Clinton they gave it to us . . . Ever wonder why?

They talk about wire tapping in Congress, so you think their going to do something about it, their not. Ever wonder who Google is? Who Blog Catalog is or could be? Now they tried to pass a bill to give the phone companies a pass on prosecution . . . ATT bought SBC Global. They bought Yahoo. Wasn’t Micro something looking into buying Google or maybe they did . . . ?

Hey do you remember MS getting off with a slap on the wrist for monopolistic practice? Could it be . . . No, it couldn’t, could it? How’s your computer running these days? Mine’s kind of slow . . . I wonder. Once I sent an email to myself, because my emails were getting to me very slowly . . . So I simply sent an email to myself, asking who was reading my emails . . . And when I got it the subject said, ciao . . .

Ever wonder who owns what? It doesn’t much matter, because with pressure we know what they’ll become.

The haters are growing in their numbers and the rules are growing. And the internet is already closing on our freedoms, and this door will be shut forever. So I’m gonna get mine now . . . How about you?

Have you looked around lately? Camera’s dot our intersections. Watchdogs . . . They record our transactions at the ATM’s and outside of buildings. Our emails are being read, phone calls are being listened to for what ever reason . . . The truth, fear is the plague . . . And so we go to work each day, pay our taxes and dream of retirement . . .

One thing everyone needs to know, the bad guys don’t use the internet . . . We do. Ever wonder who paid for the internet? The porn sites . . . Things are never what they seem. The Brave Few. Dan

Christmas is almost here . . .

Christmas is almost here . . .

Christmas is almost here and then comes my annual soul searching. This year I have so much to be thankful for.

+ My son is CANCER-FREE
+ The publication of Sleepless Nights
+ Finishing Writing Sins of a Father

And I always make a list of goals and prioritize them. And this year will be no different, though my readers will notice that my blogs will not consume more of my time than things I view as being more important. Blogging is necessary, although it is not going to be number one on my list, anymore.

What I’ve learned is that so many people hide behind a façade, too afraid to be themselves . . . I prefer knowing my friends, not something that was just pretend. I write fiction, I don’t live it. Our country is living in a mist. Soon the sun will heat the earth and reality will burn through and we’re going to realize with regrets what we have let slip between our fingers.

I thought that if my readers would read my words they would take a moment and realize what is at stake. And then they would catch to the wave . . . Everyone has had a part to play and everyone is just as guilty of looking the other way. Does anyone remember the pain of 29? No one reading this I’m sure.

I am not overly religious, though I believe in the words of the Bible . . . Probably for reasons that would astonish most. And yet I know that any group that hates can’t be good . . .

My goals have always been to try to help this world to overcome the hatred and to become great again. And then everything else just fit in where it may. But now I realize that everyone has their own silly reasons for being and nothing I do will help them find a cause more righteous than what others have sold to them . . . You see, hatred is a tool used by leaders to control you and me. And we decide not to hate anymore, we take their power away from them.

And this Christmas time our leaders would have us believe they have won in Iraq and yet no matter what they tell me, I can’t see a victory with so many lies . . . So we’re supposed to believe they have achieved what so many have failed to do. And it stinks when the words start up again about Iran, Korea, Syria . . . Will the next leader be any different?

How could they? Our leaders think they have found a way to have wars and peace at home at the same time . . . That’s because we’re so stupid . . . To back a war is to give them what they need so desperately. It’s funny, I mean the bridges to no where . . . You don’t really think the hundred dollar toilet seats are for real? And now your President doesn’t even bother putting everything in the budget, he doesn’t have too. No one will hold him accountable. And the economy doesn’t even look at the cost of food or gas to calculate inflation . . . And so one day we’ll surely know 29 once again . . .

And the internet is great . . . It allows us to get our message out, or does it? What if search engines don’t put your posts on their sites, but send them to some watch dog instead? What if ISP’s screen everything for certain words, regardless of intent or what was meant? What if the social blog logs are really gardens of chatter for the gardeners to sift through? Where we’re going, someone has gone before us . . . And it didn’t have good results. Warrior and Wars. The Brave Few. Dan

We need to shift our focus . . .

We need to shift our focus . . .

During and after the cold war, we became deathly afraid of community, maybe with a good reason . . . And now we’re afraid or working for the common good and that doesn’t help anyone.

Look at it this way . . . Our local governments are willing to take anyone for any position. They are the ones making budgets and spending our tax dollars. We don’t know what they know, how they think or even if they are responsible. And the same gets magnified at the state and Federal levels.

Everyone knows this . . . Everyone wants to pay less taxes, but are you willing to do with less?

Are you ready to go back to gravel roads? Are you ready to tear down school buildings for online schools? Are you ready for private companies to pay their fair share? I’m talking about the stadiums? The cable the cable companies use? The electric provider’s grid? Don’t forget we paid for the infrastructure, we should be compensated . . .

And all those contractors, they’re raking in the doe because all they provide labor . . . You should be mad. Republicans you should be mad for the entitlements have gone to members of our tribe and must likely, not you . . . It will never be you or me.

Today in my community, I noticed camera’s on the new intersection . . . Why? Because we might need them . . . Pray tell who’s watching you?

Everyone should read Mein Kampf and yes, Communist Manifesto, but keep your dictionary next to you. You’ll need it. Hate is a tool to bring members into the fold. The more you hate the more haters fill your ranks.

Today both parties use hate . . . All they want is your vote. They’ll throw you a bone, maybe make you think they’re in your corner. And what’s truly hilarious, is their pork makes us think they are working for us . . . We’ve got to come together before it’s too late. Katrina should have been the wake up . . . Katrina could have been you or me.

Everyone wants you to believe that Iraq is because of 9-11, that it is over oil. It’s neither of those . . . It’s simply to spend the national resources so the other side can’t . . .

And now we’ll never get healthcare, education for all, maybe even Social Security funded . . . No matter what they do or don’t do, they win. No Government can be so chaotic without being planned . . . The Brave Few. Dan

Rambling on the Wires . . .

Rambling on the wires . . .

I haven’t been feeling like writing about politics. I just don’t like the hate that is there. I think of myself as a Republican, although, I am a human being first, not a Republican, not an American. You see where this is going. Who you think you are, will determine your choices . . . And you must know yourself, before any of it will really be who you are.

To vote Republican as a Union Worker is not too true to who you are or is it? It all depends on what you value and the order you value it in.

What if we eliminated public schools? Our taxes would be less right? No . . . Our schools would be better. Not so fast . . . Those that couldn’t afford the better schools would get the raw end of the stick as always. We’d home school. Right, don’t we read anymore . . . The public school system was created because we had a society of illiterate workers. Sure we had the Rockefellers and all the Robber Barrens. Wonder why, so many of them were saved from the Titanic?

What if we eliminated the American Armed Services? Taxes would go down, wouldn’t they? No . . . We’d pay more for the private army.

What if we eliminated the Post Office? Taxes? No . . . It would cost more to mail a letter.

So what does it mean . . . Balance my friend, a smaller, more efficient, Government. Whoever thought Republicans wanted privatization anyway? The New Conservatives, why? Simply, because with a smaller Government they win or privatization they win also.

And why? Because we believe we will pay less taxes. But wait . . . If the Fed doesn’t do it, who will? You know who. In the short run, we’ll get their tax break. That is until, you know who starts taking on those activities the Fed won’t do anymore.

The truth, you pay X. X is made up of State taxes and Federal taxes and City taxes and maybe County taxes. If the Federal Taxes goes down, the others will go up to cover the lost services. And because they are starting from nothing, it’ll be more. And that will be X + Y, where Y will be the cost of the new service startup.

My brother-in-law and sister-in-law are die hard Republicans . . . They would never ever think to vote another way.

I wonder if auto-bots are good for our way of life? A paradigm shift doesn’t solve it . . . The paradox is destroying us . . . Then what? Start over . . . Civil War, usually does that.

I am a human being first, remember? War is not acceptable. Then what? Balance . . . Our Government is what it was designed to be. Now we need to understand the Government is not the enemy as long as we keep the checks in place and as long as we balance the two. That is privatization and Government, conservative and democrat and work together . . .

Screw this up and we’ll have to deal with it and the truth, our American Civil War wasn’t fought over slavery . . . It was fought because one day Senators walked out, southern states seceded from the Union . . . Some might think that’s not so bad, but then we would look just like Europe with 50 countries with passports to boot!!!! The Brave Few. Dan

Here We Go Again . . .

I really don’t like any of the candidates for President . . . Every one of them has great defects in my thoughts. Let’s call it like it really is, no party will alienate the Illegal Aliens because they control votes . . . Maybe it’s just perceived votes, but no one wants to lose the election because rallied at the polls afraid they’d be sent back.

Ok, let’s say they stay. What does that do for us? More taxes going at the retiring baby boomer crises, for the Bushes Deficit. To be honest with you, I think we should throw all the bums out, even Lou Dobbs . . . He’s really not helping anything.

Sure everyone with a brain would like to pay less in taxes, but you won’t if everything gets kick to the states . . . That means duplicating everything fifty times. Then why would we need the Fed? Wait a minute, didn’t we do all this before? No that was because of slavery. Are you sure? Seems to me it didn’t start until the Southern States Senators walked out . . . Hmmm.

Anyway, everyone is against price caps . . . But folks it has to happen, it’s out of control and no one is being reasonable. They just as soon kick the money somewhere else . . . Did you hear the rich are fleeing to Dubai, what does that mean?

They got off Scott Free . . . A new world order, that’s what we let Bush do, that’s us, the Republicans. Boy don’t we feel smart . . .

And you know what’s coming? Fifty percent taxes . . . Oh and they’ll throw in healthcare. Maybe that’s a good deal. But you know that’s what I proposed long before Bush and 9-11.

Something like this . . .
+ 50% taxes
+ Free college for everyone forever
+ National healthcare
+ National Pension Plan
+ 6 Weeks Vacation for everyone
+ Mandatory Community Service forever for every American
( Build a bridge, low income housing, help a child )

Sounds like socialism . . . How else do you think we’re going to survive those modern Rockefellers?

What do you think will even the playing field with China? Didn’t we beat Communism? I think it beat itself, the same way our cherished capitalism is going. Privatization is obsessive behavior, we can’t afford run away inflation and that’s what that is . . . Is anyone happy with what their making? Now I ask you, privatization, really? Sounds like we’ll need a bushel basket to carry the dollars we’ll need to pay for a loaf of bread.

I think all politicians are nuts . . .

Politicians are nuttier than squirrel poop . . . Sorry, J.K. Rowling and all you Harry Potter fans for steeling her metaphor, I couldn’t help myself. It was just too good not to use again.

Why now? Well everyone is saying the surge is working in Iraq . . . We have to believe because no news is good news, isn’t it? To be honest, whether they tame the rattler or not doesn’t take away the fact that the jumped into it’s nest, does it?

Long ago I learned that if I attempted a project with an endless budget and no time constraints, I couldn’t lose, so who are they kidding? What we need to realize is this bunch thinks they are better than us, that they are acting for us. Right . . . ? Now the Democrats are jumping on board with the surge. Hey Dip Shits, you can’t tell me you haven’t figured it out? The insurgents have moved somewhere else. Pakistan seems ripe for the picking . . . Da?

This thing is a long way from being over. And the dollars are going to go into the trillions. And why now? Seriously why are the Democrats jumping on board? Can anyone speak Chinese? It seems the die is cast. Iran, China, F-it, let’s just take on the world, why not, we’re better than them, right?

Hey where did all the rich people go? Can you say the Kingdom, Dubai or is it King George’s middle name, Dubia, oh that’s spelled with a W.

To be honest, I don’t like war. I don’t like that for 3000 plus lives we destroyed two countries and killed so many. I don’t like the lies they used, for their shock and awe. I don’t like that they all decided to use a private army. I don’t like what they did to the Geneva Convention and our sacred Constitution all for a victory . . . It just won’t taste as good as it could. And you know George is right, history will always remember him kindly. The deck has always been stacked . . .

So what does that mean? Maybe our honorable, beloved country isn’t so honorable? Maybe we are only as good as our leaders? Maybe it’s all a lie? George Washington was a coward. The civil war wasn’t over slavery. The USS Maine wasn’t attacked, a boiler blew up. The Japanese declaration for war sat on FDR’s desk before the Pearl Harbor attack. Truman didn’t have to use the second bomb. Kennedy’s Bay of Pigs was a sham. LBJ lied about the bay of Tonkin and Vietnam. What about the Cole? What about 9-11? What Are We Thinking . . .

What are we thinking?

Are we stupid? Why is everything crashing down around the world? You probably don’t know. Everyone seems unhappy with their leaders, why? Argentina, Pakistan, U.S. and on and on.

Is it only when they stop listening or something else? This is the first time in history that the media is part of the problem, the first time when the people of the world aren’t sure of anything around them.

And it is so disconcerting knowing that up, may not be just above our heads . . . Last night was the Republican Youtube debates. Watching I felt an uneasiness, an uneasiness from both parties equally . . . So we go through this CRAP and then we vote and four more years of the same or slightly different or dumped on our heads

. . . . Still there is no way for the people to oust a leader they dislike. Be it a President, Senator, Congressman or a Mayor. I have learned something through all this BS, we’re all in this together and payback is hell.

Our leaders, swear to their views and they change and they lie . . . I am tired of this . . . Tired knowing that no one wants to pay taxes and that is solely how they vote.
And are we better for the last eight years? Does every American have healthcare? Does every American have a savings? You don’t know about them, only about yourself . . . Do you? Are you better off than you were eight years ago?

But look around, everyone is struggling with no help available to pick up the pieces . . . Do away with the rest and we’re just one earthquake away from nonexistence . . . . And why?

What’s sitting in your driveway? Your closets? Drawers? Not American made products, because . . . Because we all think cheaper is better. But you can’t always get it both ways. I mean you buy at Wal-Mart, you say to put the kid through college . . . But why bother if Wal-Mart is the only job left?

Like you, I like what money buys. I like high returns on investments, I like feeling important and today we get to experience something we’ve never experienced before . . . Runaway spending with no end in sight. Iraq has ruined our credit in the world. It’s been paid for with a credit card.
And guess what? Our creditors are those we fear most . . . What if they come to collect?

When the house is lost the bank takes it back. But when the country fails, who’s going to take back the country? And guess what? They did it on our watch, with out a fight. Shame on us Republicans . . .

Shoot we’re still trying to privatize everything and don’t know it’s already been sold. But my fellow Republicans, who do you think bought those institutions, the ones you wanted privatized? Americans? Think again.

The first lie they sold us was that the Government can’t run anything well . . . That is so much CRAP and you know why . . . You see it everyday, you see it at the gas pumps . . . G R E E D.

Privatization only works when everything is at the same level, everything is at the same demand, same supply with no constraints, no controls. But folks you can’t control the board . . . And here’s the sad truth.

Your Government has known all along that Globalization means taking a pay cut. For you, for every American and still they push it as being part of a free market . . . But it’s not a free market. The Chinese businesses don’t pay labor, the country does. That means, every country in the world practicing free market trade with China is being duped because you pay labor and they don’t . . . But profits is all that’s important, right?

Well when you lose your job because it isn’t needed or out sourced to China, India, Mexico or some other third world country, then you can say I helped bring in on . . . The Brave Few.

I’ve Grown Tired . . .

I’ve grown tired of complaining with no sight in end. I have a diesel pickup, when did diesel cost more to produce than gasoline? It doesn’t cost more . . . Just like these prices aren’t prefabricated . . . Mr. Bush has rolled back history. During Reagan’s reign we had lines at the gas pumps, why? Iran . . . Always Iran.

Don’t you grow tired of this S**t . . . What if you started walking? What if everyone started walking? The prices would fall overnight . . . They wouldn’t be able to give that s**t away . . . And you know, we’d all be better off for it.

The truth, we can’t believe any of them . . . What’s going on in Iraq? How about Afghanistan or anywhere for that matter? Who knows? Not the U.S. Media, they on a need to know basis. I wonder if the BBC or CBC?

And we don’t need to know . . . Who determines who needs to know? And the Vice President is ok . . . What’s happening in Iraq? Bush is meeting in Maryland with leaders trying to fix the Middle East . . . Heaven help us all. And still what’s happening in Iraq?

I’m disenchanted. I have been so naïve. It’s like being asleep and waking up and realizing it’s all been a dream, a lie. So now what?

I put my head down and trudge that American path of ignorance, apathy and one of no action . . . What happened to my Country of my youth? Was it ever what I thought? I think not . . . But each day I thank God for our Dreamers, they believe and they fight for us, they die for us.

And we don’t hear anything. We don’t know anything . . . Does a tree in the forest make a noise when it falls when no one is there to hear? When no one is there to cry for our fallen? This is so unfair of them . . . BRING EM HOME. The Brave Few.

Health Insurance For Life . . .

Health Insurance For Life . . .

What if we awarded health insurance for life if a donor gave a piece of his liver, a lung, a kidney to someone who really needed it? Would you do it? I would. And to be honest that excites me . . . I believe that it is time for us to stop paying for health insurance through our employers.

What if someone signed up for being a donor when they died, would it be worthy of giving them health insurance for the rest of their life?

If everyone didn’t have to worry about health insurance do you thing we could afford to work for less? If so, then why aren’t we? I think it would allow us to be happier in our career paths . . .

How do you feel about national health? What effect do you think that has on labor costs? Do you realize that we are no longer playing in an even playing field with any of the industrialized countries?

Now is there a way to give everyone the same insurance as those in congress? I think John Edwards has the right idea, take congresses insurance away until they find a way to give every American the same coverage they enjoy. I wonder when did they become better than the people they server? The Brave Few. Dan

When Did We Become The Party Of Hate?

Why Do We Hate? The other day I went to a conservative blog . . . I won’t say the one. And I was disappointed, disappointed in the hate mongering. Why have we become so filled with hate? When did we become so judgmental?

It’s almost as thou those that led in the 60’s have become saints . . . They weren’t saints. It was s trying time at best. Everyone hated so . . . Everyone seemed to be so bigoted. There were marches, black and whites, the kkk and peace rallies. Vietnam had become the joke . . . We woke up and realized LBJ had thrown us into the fire.

We’re better than that . . . For so long I have said nothing about my party, thinking I am an Independent or that I could be a Democrat. But I’m not an Independent and I can’t believe that I want someone to baby sit me, I have always been a Republican and somewhere you’ve changed, not me.

And today I’ve decided that’s enough . . . I will never condone fighting to the last man standing, not when we started the stupidity. And torture, hmmm. Where have we let them take our values?

I believe in truth, honor and the American Way . . . I will never believe in the end justifies any action and I will never give the whole party to the rich. Screw them . . . They will you.

I am a conservative. What does that mean? I believe not in privatization, but less Government. Those so called leaders have taken us down a path of CRAP. They think privatization is better than the Government . . . Now that’s just silly. Every business owner knows privatization drives the price up. The lack of competition kills all advantage, the lack of controls kills all levels of success. You need to be honest with yourself. Being conservative means balanced budgets and lower spending, not being a party that’s afraid of losing the next election . . .

But what happened to just being better than them . . . To be honest, I don’t think I can sign on with a fiscal policy that spends ridiculously and has no concern for human life. That’s hate . . . Not a Republican.

Who are our leaders? What are they selling us? Hitler sold the same CRAP and his closest advisors turned on him. The Brave Few. Dan

What if we get Bush lite . . .?

What If We Get Bush Lite . . . ?

What if we have another five years of this CRAP? Do you feel comfortable with another Clinton? An ex-mayor of New York, who couldn’t keep his pants up, either?

All I ever wanted was to be proud of my America. And that means having leaders that know right and wrong. And ours are arrested for solicitation in airport bathrooms or don’t know whether their zipper is up or down . . .

How do you like being played? Winning an election has become synonymous with manipulation, the illusion of being a good leader . . . But isn’t being a candidate an oxymoron of a sort? To be wealthy, independently wealthy, hasn’t some moral fiber been eroded in the process? I wonder . . . ?

Who ever gets the nod to be our next President, it doesn’t look good. But won’t they be better than what we have now? We can hope, but history tells us otherwise. The damage just might not be repairable.

We have a problem in this country, when does the cause become more important than the country? The Civil War wasn’t fought over slavery. It was fought over beliefs . . . Today the line has been drawn in the sand. Sides are being drawn and soon the fight over right and wrong will begin. Will either back down? NO.

Nuts right . . . ? Watch and see. All Governments have to have boundaries, they have to know when a cause is just too extreme, too much to bare without losing its core belief. The storm is brewing, it’s in the wind. Righteous rocks are being tossed around as if they’re loafs of bread. And don’t kid yourself, everything is connected . . . Barry Bonds, Iran, Iraq, port security, the border, oil prices, mortgage problems, everything is held together by a single tiny thread called confidence. And it’s been eradicated by the few, our so-called leaders . . . The brave Few. Dan

And today I only see one choice, John Edwards . . . And that’s looking at all candidates. I am a Republican, but these guys aren’t Republicans and if you still think they care about you, you better get a life because when one company owns everything, you are screwed . . . Balance is all that works, well. Checks and balances . . . And today I announce my support for John Edwards, the only candidate worthy to be called President of the United States. The brave few. Dan

I Sensed There Was A Problem . . .

I Sensed There Was A Problem

Today I took my GMC 3500 truck into the dealer. My service guy, he acted strange . . . He has always been good to me. I should explain. Before I bought my first GMC I checked out the service department. I meet everyone, I was hunting for a long term relationship . . . I told them I planned on buying at least five more trucks and I wanted to buy from someone that would treat me good. That was four GMC trucks ago and that company is long gone . . . But I followed the service rep. to another dealer . . .

And today for the first time he insinuated that the dealership would likely get mad at him for doing the right thing. My tail light had fell out. It was screwed in too tightly from the factory, broke the clips that held it. He more or less said that his boss would probably be mad that he warnteed it . . . He would probably lose his job.

So this is what has happened to our American Dream? So when are you going to wake up? At what cost will corporate pressure keep you from doing the right thing?

It happened to me long ago. I tried to sell a demo as a new computer, pressure from the bosses . . . The whole deal went to hell, no sale, no commission, no referrals . . . And today, no one will tell me not to do the right thing, ever. I will have their job in a flash . . . But that’s me.

So when does an employee have to do the right thing, have to take a stand? Would you?

The Enron fiasco cost a whole lot of people to lose so much and it was only brought down by someone who talked . . . The fox is in the hen house, we must take a stand. We can’t let fear beat us down . . .

My service man, he took a stand for me and when he gets the axe, I’ll go where he goes . . . The Brave Few. Dan

Things Go Better With Gore . . .

Things Go Better With Gore . . .

With out any doubt . . . But would the U.S. be recognizable? I’m not sure. You see I was one of those idiots that thought Georgie was different than his old man. I thought he was more like me. How wrong I was, but I new 150 days into his Presidency that he was not our savior but something much darker . . .

And then came 2004 and somehow Dean was bumped for JFK. Another Yale grad, another Skull and Bones man, just what we needed . . . John Forbes Kerry.

So we’re afraid of what? More of the same or them other guys?

Georgie got my vote because I was afraid my country was becoming too soft, too afraid of its own shadow. And of course I thought he would bring sense to the Office. I was wrong, but do we have other choices? I’m not sure . . . Money, corporate power, elitism has taken over. Both sides are part of this whale, both sides look at things differently and yet they seem to find the same end, hmmm.

Ok, maybe we wouldn’t be in Iraq with Gore or Kerry or would we? Iraq sits on a third of all oil reserves. And before Clinton left office, he was gearing up for something, but what? He was using contractors. The USS Cole was attacked, presumably by a bomb . . . Funny it looks my like a missile to me . . . Supposedly he fired a missile a terrorist camp. And if the Monica thing never happened, who knows where we’d be fighting?

And so here we are . . .
9-11, anthrax, patriot act, Afghanistan, Iraq, Abu Ghraib, torture . . . Deny, deny, deny.

And winner of today’s headlines are . . .

FBI Says Blackwater Killings Unjustified . . .
Da . . .

Price of Oil hurts . . .
Can you say National Energy Bill?

FCC, says it’s ok for Corporations to own the Media . . .
Ha . . .

Clinton, Obama and Edwards, oh my . . .

And so Clinton is more of the same, Obama different, yet maybe too young, too naïve and Edwards maybe our only chance to leave something worth a damn to our children. It’s just too bad we have to accept whatever we get . . . Where are the candidates that are for the people, to do the peoples bidding?

We are in desperate need of a Gun Toting Marshal and our choices don’t seem too willing. The Brave Few. Dan

Veterans Day . . . A Day to forget Politics

Today is for those who have gone to war, the fallen. Thank you . . . I wish there was more we could do, but . . . I’m not writing about politics today.

Several years ago, I visited a very sacred place, Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C. I witnessed a very special ceremony, the changing of the guard. I was moved to tears. Standing there before the tomb of the unknown soldier, tears rolled down my cheeks, over looking the manicured landscape and all those bleach white markers . . . I stood on sacred ground.

And in the background I heard the guns of a twenty-one gun salute; another soldier had been laid to rest. Pride abounds all around those acres. Everyone that visits feels it. Every one knows they are heroes laid to rest, sleeping the eternal rest. That is most of them, anyway . . . Sure others lie there, but I won’t talk politics today.

Veterans Day has always been celebrated on November 11 and it was always special to me . . . The day after my birthday, I had it off for so many years. But it also didn’t take me long to realize what it meant, what it should mean to all Americans . . . And yet we don’t . . . I’m not writing politics, not today.

J.F.K. is buried there and so many others. Generals, enlisted men, famous men, so many and all received a military funeral. An honor guard, a rider-less horse with a pair of boots facing backward and a wagon with a casket with our flag draped over it. And always, ceremonial marches, slow and resolute, precise salutes for the fallen. Never does it matter, whether they fell in battle or from a long healthy life, a soldier has gone to his rest . . . Once a soldier, always a soldier. And always they hear the reports gun salute and a bugle playing taps on a hill. And always the flag is folded and handed to a loved one. The Brave Few. Dan

Here Comes Four Dollar Gas . . .

So here it comes . . . Yesterday a tanker hit the bay bridge, spilling the black gold. Gangs terrorize vital oil region, Nigeria. Oh and have you heard, King George’s war has stopped pumping of a third of the oil reserves in the world . . .

And so you doubt Iraq is over oil . . . Follow the money. Bush Senior had 85 thousand invested in Enron and pulled out millions . . . Just follow the money.

Democrats want you to worry about Global Warming, Republicans cause wars and both have the same goals in mind . . . Slowing the consumption of oil.

But if you look at both parties policies neither make any logical sense with their support of values . . . Their two faced, insincere or just harvesting votes . . . Let them. One day very soon, someone is going to rise up out of the ashes and bring the American People together again . . .

Only there is one big problem, we don’t follow well . . . We always look skeptically at everything, searching for faults. There will never be a party’s policies that we’ll agree a hundred percent with . . . But should that keep his from searching for a more perfect union? I think not. The Brave Few. Dan

Here We Go Again . . .

Here we go again . . .

I have been against Globalization . . . In a perfect world Globalization would be fine, but we don’t live in a perfect world. Some live in a more perfect world than we do. You see many of the issues today are issues because we have failed to handle the problems all other industrial nations have . . .

For whatever stupid reasons we believe, we let others create in our minds, we still don’t have some form of national healthcare . . . And the same goes for higher education . . . Retirement, the American has grown frail and splintered. And so Illegal Emigration is a concern as is out sourcing of jobs and globalizations. All because we are afraid those other things will again become victims of goodwill toward others . . .

So Mr. Congressman and Mr. President . . . Stop this CRAP. Start working for the people, start understanding our pain.

And so we have another recall . . . And this time maybe we will understand that dealing with a Communist Country is not exactly a free market association. Maybe truthfully there are other factors than capitalization at play . . . Hmmm. I hate to say, to think it but this isn’t going to end well . . . China holds our debt, they make our products and they need the same oil we enjoy so . . .

I wonder if there could have been a better way? What’s sitting in your driveway? Mine are all American Companies, how about you?

I probably should explain . . . If I lived in England, I would have a Mini Cooper, I like them a lot. I don’t have one. I have GMC’s. The Brave Few.

And So You Think You Are A Republican . . .

I think of myself as a Republican and yet, I just don’t get it . . . They believe in Pro-live and yet they believe in Capital Punishment and war . . . And they’re against Stem Cell Research, which would, could, might prolong life. And so many don’t believe in contraceptives . . . They believe in torture . . . I don’t.

And Democrats want to welcome all people into this great country . . . And still they haven’t fixed anything. Their Pro-Choice and then they say they are for all people . . . And still they gave the President the power he needed to go to war in Iraq . . . Typically against Capital Punishment.

So much doesn’t make sense . . . It makes your head spin. All I can truthfully say, is what I am for . . . And you know that’s really all any of us can do anyway.

Then why do we allow our parties to tell us what we believe in . . . ?

Here’s what I know about me . . .

I am for Universal Health.
I am for College/School for all Americans.
I am for Retirement for all Americans.
I am Pro-life with respect for others opinions.
I don’t believe in the Death Penalty.
I believe in war only as a last option, not as policy.
I believe in the Constitution is the law of the land, and I
believe the Bill of Rights has made us great . . . I
don’t believe in the Patriot Act, wire taping or torture.
I believe laws are merely guidelines and Judges are
supposed to interpret them.
I believe Religion has to be kept out of Government.
I believe in Religious Freedom and prayers in school.
I believe our borders need to be secured and that breaking
the law is no way to enter this or any country.
I believe your opinion is as important as mine.
I don’t think anyone ought to be hungry.
I don’t like taxes, I don’t like waste.
I don’t want my tax dollars to buy bombs.

BRING EM HOME

The other day I realized for the first time ever . . . That my country has become a lie and our leaders are liars. And that hurts, it hurts me to say it and it hurts because it’s true. You see I was one of the few believers left. I believed in this more perfect union founded on truth . . .

And the other day I found it lurking in our leaders actions of the past . . . And it hurt so much to write the words. Our American wars have been nothing but lies . . .

And today our leaders believe they are doing what is best for us, how else could they do what they do?

And my brother-in-law is a good man and yet he believes in them . . . I just can’t see it. I would love to believe again, but, but I just can’t.

I know the media today is a farce, but maybe it’s always been nothing more than a propaganda machine . . . I’m not sure, but that’s what I suspect. And then I look at both parties and I see them say one thing and then when they vote, nothing ever is done for us. Why? They give so many varied reasons, but in my mind only one floats to the surface . . . They are both the same.

We are heading toward a point where there won’t be any turning back . . . And no one seems to want to intervene. And this time, our children will be the ones to die . . . The Brave Few.

I don’t believe in coincidence . . .

The Civil War was fought over slavery. The blowing up of the Maine started the Spanish-American War. We entered WWII with a Japanese surprise attack on Pearl Harbor. The Chinese entered the Korean Conflict unexpectedly. Vietnam started in the bay of Tonkin. Desert Storm was fought because Iraq invaded Kuwait. The Cole was attacked by terrorists. And what about The World Trade bombing, OK City, TWA 800, right, anthrax?

Does history lie? Why did Bush reclassify documents as soon as he took office?

What if it all was staged? Why?

The Civil War . . . Lincoln couldn’t allow the South to secede from the Union . . .

Spanish-American War . . . Intervention in Cuba.

WWII . . . FDR hadn’t had success getting Americans to want to enter the war until he made things hard on Japan and they acted . . . It is said he knew before they attacked.

Korean War . . . They knew in June, China attacked in November . . . It was said it was unexpected.

Bay of Pigs . . .

Vietnam . . . A supposed attack on the USS Maddox in the bay of Tonkin . . . Never happened. LBJ’s friends were in the arms business.

Desert Storm . . . fought because Iraq invaded Kuwait . . . But what if it had to do with the low price of oil? Iraq has a third of the oil reserves in that area. No oil pumped for two years and then there were restrictions put on . . . Remember UN Food for Oil?

The Cole . . . Clinton had girl trouble. A war would change all that, now wouldn’t it?

John Kerry and George Bush belonged to the Skull and Bones. All the Bushes belonged to the group . . .

Enron . . .

Iraq War . . . Oil prices hit all time high at $95 a barrel . . . The oil isn’t pumping.

What might this mean?

What We Need In A Leader

It’s really very simple . . . It’s what most of us loved about Bill Clinton. Hillary doesn’t know it yet. John Edwards has it . . .

I worry that our next President will be the same as all the rest . . . We need a change. We need a leader who’s excited about this Great Country. Sure there are so many problems and yet who’s leaving . . . Not me.

I don’t want a leader that’s afraid to cry . . . I want one that really feels our pain. Bill Clinton always was sincere. You can’t hide that . . . So many have tried and it just falls on deaf ears. We can not afford another Republican, not now . . .

From one Republican to all Democrats, Independents and free spirited Republicans, we need balance. Don’t screw this up trying to over compensate for King George . . . You have to fix some things, right away . . . For one, Health care. This is your shot, maybe your only chance. Don’t screw it up trying to avoid securing the boarders . . . We have to come together or we’re doomed . . .

Today 1 in 196 homes are being foreclosed on . . . Wow, that’s over half a percentage point, .5%. What does that mean to new home sales? They’ve been flushed . . . What does that mean this winter? Home builders will be laying off . . . Or looking for cheaper labor.

We didn’t have these problems with Bill . . . We didn’t have the huge deficit with Bill . . . We didn’t have soldiers dying with Bill . . . Oil prices were contained with Bill.

Now everyone will have you believe that no one could prevent all that. But that’s not exactly true, now is it . . . ? With Bill Clinton savings interest rates were at an unheard of low. The stock market was flat. Bonds paid a little better. Silver, well, it just was . . . Oil prices were down. So which do you prefer?

Let me ask you, do the higher interest rates allow you to make more money on your money or do you have less money to invest?

Usually we forget the cost of higher rates . . . And that is, everything else costs more too. The Brave Few.

The Time Is Right . . .

The time is right for our next leader and it’s easier then any of them can possibly imagine. All the next leader has to do is show the people that he or she is going to lead for them. But who is going to rise above the rest?

Yesterday, Senator John Edwards gave a speech that was almost the speech of this century . . . I say almost for he left out one thing that would seal the deal . . . BRING EM HOME.

But I’m still hoping he’ll realize that our policies are just a set of lies. I could go through the run down but that’s your job to pick your candidate, I just know Edwards so far has a far lead for me. And it’s simply because I think his heart is clearly in my camp . . . The rest I’m sure is looking somewhere else.

I paraphrased Senator Edwards speech at St. Anselm’s College, October 29, 2007.

“Many of you know that I am the son of a mill worker – that I rose from modest means and have been blessed in so many ways in life…

And all of you know about some of the challenges we have faced in my family. But there came a time, a few months ago, when Elizabeth and I had to decide, in the quiet of a hospital room, after many hours of tests and getting pretty bad news – what we were going to do with our lives.

And we made our decision. That we were not going to go quietly into the night – that we were going to stand and fight for what we believe in…”

“Down one path, we trade corporate Democrats for corporate Republicans; our cronies for their cronies; one political dynasty for another…

I run for president for my father who worked in a mill his entire life and never got to go to college the way I did.

What the hell are we thinking . . .

What the hell are we thinking . . .

We’ve created think groups trying to solve problems . . . For our selves and for the world and yet the mess is getting larger all the time. We’re not God . . . How naive of us to think we can solve everyone’s problems and our own too.

Today I read that our military wants to put Anthropologists in combat units in Iraq and Afghanistan . . . Anthropologists study people, their culture, beliefs, what makes them tick . . . And now I ask you, bring Anthropologists in to do what? Teach our leaders right from wrong? What will work and what won’t . . . If they didn’t know by now, they never will. Force begets force . . . That’s the first fatal error. There are no Do-Overs. Maybe George wants to grab his ball and go home? Or maybe it’s time George gets the spanking he deserves?

They expect us to believe that they will listen to Anthropologists . . . Or maybe the Administration will employ them to say what they want us to believe . . . That’s more like it, wouldn’t you say?

And in another breath, another piece, the CIA is going after its own . . .

This Administration eats its young, simply put anytime they don’t like what is said, they attack, they destroy all credibility . . .

And you wonder what happened to the media, same thing that happened to everyone standing up for our rights . . . Fear happened. We’re all running with our tails between our legs . . .

You don’t think so . . . Then BRING EM HOME . . . The Brave Few.

The Button and a Man . . .

I have a fear that our leaders won’t know when to stop, when pushing the button won’t fix all that is wrong. Today they talk as if everyone in the Middle East is an enemy . . . But no one can be an enemy unless you make them one.

Long ago I believed that War was used for Population control . . . And maybe in some dark seeded way it is, but I don’t want to ever give credence to such a contemptible thought. And maybe the U.N. hasn’t lived up to our expectations. And maybe a new all powerful version could be better, but at what cost? Does the end justify any means? How many will die for such a belief?

Its one thing for me to be a martyr, but it’s something else for all the innocent victims . . . I for one do not like when one man makes those decisions to go to war, to push a button on a council . . . Something just doesn’t sit well with me when they do. The Brave Few.

I've become such a cynic . . .

I’ve become such a cynic

I’ve become a cynic and I don’t like it. But everywhere I turn I see signs of the sins of what our Government is messing up . . . I just don’t trust our leaders anymore and it’s killing me. Every time they meet for HR . . . blankity-blank, I feel they are putting it to us. I am waiting for them to sell Yellowstone to the Saudi’s or the Grand Canyon . . . And I pray they won’t but it’s happening all around us. The Democrats in Illinois sold a toll way, the NASDAC is going, our ports . . .

This can’t be good. And then I see the wealthy jumping ship and moving to Dubai . . . The place where everything is being sold, I wonder why? Privatization, Globalization . . . Good God will we ever wake up? If I ever hear someone say to me again, What can you do? I’m going to rip their fricking head off . . . That’s not the answer. The power is in us, numbers and they know it.

We have no media, sold long ago . . . No manufacturing gone to the cheapest labor, cheapest goods, no jobs, going, going, gone. Healthcare, wish in one hand and S**T in the other and see which gets filled first? And we have a war waging to cloud their criminal actions and no one is watching . . . Why? Does everyone plan on evacuating the ship? Here we are on a voyage and a rouge wave is about to take us out . . . Its name is George Bush and he is also Captain of the Sinking ship . . . I wonder, what happened to those captains of Enron? Where has Halliburton gone? The Brave Few.

The Senate Disconnect . . .

Today the Senate wants you to believe they care about our soldiers . . . They are talking about suicide. Our soldiers are on a one way ticket and no one is listening. First let thank all our soldiers, we love you.

But as an American, I have to fight for you . . . You can’t because you serve all of us. There is a disconnect in this country. Somehow many of us believe that our service men and women are being paid so they should fight. And if they aren’t fighting then maybe they aren’t doing what we pay them for? What a load of CRAP.

I have heard so many say it’s about time that our National Guard or as they call them, Weekend Warriors earn their money . . . You see somewhere the people of the U.S. have grown tired of the so called entitlements . . . The people have begun to believe that so many get and never have to pay for what they get . . . Right.

What have you received that you haven’t had to pay for in some way? There are no free lunches. There are no free lunches anywhere.

And what is the exodus to Dubai? Could it be the new world order of things to come? The wealthy live in one spot, running the rest of the world. That’s the true Globalization . . . And the rules don’t matter anymore. Supply and Demand dictates to us all and our Government can’t help anymore. So the Corporate Headquarters move to Dubai. Guess where Halliburton moved too? Why? No one Government can impose restrictions . . .

It’s everything . . . Privatization is everything being bought by foreign interests. Ever wonder when our churches will start going to the highest bidder? And our Congress does nothing . . . The Brave Few.

And That’s The Rub

As a Republican I believed in less Government. I believed in the private sector to a point. Let me explain. Stockholders demand profits; CEO’s objectives are to maximize those profits. And Government is people working for the people. And these two entities are separate and disjoint . . .

So when Government duties are privatized, the American People are being hosed by our own people for self serving interests . . . And then throw in a President that hires privateers to serve his agenda and you have all out Tierney. The laws that were set up to rule our country are not being adhered too.

And when the media is Private, the truth is . . .
And when the Fed Watchdogs have been slashed and burned, the lions, bears and elephants are running amok . . .
And when contractors are fighting the war, what’s left to stop this administration . . . All that’s left is the purse and no one seems to have the balls to fight the fight, walk the walk . . . Do their job.

And when the Courts have been stacked . . . The judges are turning what we know as law on its head for whatever reason. They always mention the letter of the law . . . Hey the law was never intended to be specific. It was merely guidelines to judge each case by . . .

The end goal of all of this can not be fully known and yet no one seems to mind too much. We are fighting a war . . . Not the one in the Middle East, but one at home. Everything we know is being overturned and scraped . . . We’re not going to recognize this country in another two years. It’s as if Hitler was in charge and no one will admit that . . . No one wants to believe that and yet everything looks so familiar.

+ Invasion of Poland . . . Iraq
+ Concentration Camps . . . Who knows, no one’s talking?
+ Propaganda . . . . . . . There’s no real scoops??
+ Fear . . . . . . . . . . And that’s the rub

Are Our Children Normal?

Do you remember being a teenager? Do you remember being independent, belligerent even? Trouble was my middle name. My kids did their share, but they aren’t engaged in current events like I was. Are our children too consumed with what’s going on around them to care?

Sure I feel that I don’t make a difference. That no one is listening, but everyone feels like that. But I’m not going to stop because of it. I don’t believe in war, not after Vietnam . . . You may know why, you may not? Today those we fought are our friends. So what changed . . . A policy, that’s all.

So why don’t we march, picket for peace . . . Too afraid that we’ll lose out on our American Dream. But friends undaunted fear today will become tomorrow’s reality. Look around the days of black and white are back . . . White shirts and black ties are in the hot seat again, power running amok. And what’s different from the 60’s and 70’s? No draft . . . I don’t believe that’s the reason.

But it could be . . . You see, it hasn’t rocked our children’s world at least not yet, but its coming and then it’ll be too late.

The Dream Party . . .

The party, of the people, for the people always battling, for the right to form to unionize . . . Why is this important?

Because salaries wouldn’t be what they are without a reason to be and folks, if they could get you for $2.00 an hour, they would. Unions are important to all of us.

The party, for PEACE . . . War only as a last resort. No torture, no SS tactics. No privatized Militia, no contractors, no draft . . . Service through Peace . . . BRING EM HOME.

The party of the Constitution . . . Restore the Bill Of Rights. Burn the Patriot Act . . . No wire tapping. Restore Habeas Corpus, restore the freedoms of the press . . . Eliminate the ability of Corporations to own the media . . . Restore the SEC, FEMA, FDA. Cut the CIA. And if the President doesn’t follow his oath he will be jailed for the remainder of his term with Bubba and the boys . . . And who will determine this, the people . . . Every election will have the question, Is the President upholding his oath of office? . . . Simple majority will put him in jail.

War by vote only . . . The people must vote . . .

Are We To Blame . . .

Are We To Blame?

Yesterday while driving I began to wonder, if it wasn’t all our faults for the way things are in the United States. We all want more; we all want to pay less taxes, don’t we?

Sure we do . . . But look around you. Do you see all that infrastructure? Public roads, utilities, buildings of every sort and we complain. Who’s going to maintain these things? All of us, and still we build . . . Oil prices are driving up all costs and they’re passing them on to us . . . Privatization isn’t going to make anything cheaper, it’s just going to go higher.

But then, maybe it’s Republican to do without or pay whatever the price? Are we ready to walk? I am. But are you?

I am a Republican, I just don’t think this Administration truly is . . . Did they ask you what you wanted? Or did they assume you wanted less Government? Did they assume you would be ok with making less, paying less taxes for less? Did they ask you if it was ok, when Katrina blew, that FEMA wasn’t there to serve those in need? Will you be ok with it when it happens to you?

Are you ok without a draft? Are you ok enough to privatize the military, did they ask you? Are you ok when they took away the Bill of Rights and added that sham the Patriot Act? Have your read either?

And how did they do all this . . . We had our eyes on something else . . . Terror. But what if the real Terror comes from within, just what if? And who’s going to be the next in line to lead and where are they going to lead us? Can we trust anyone?

Two parties are not working for us. We need a peoples party . . . The Dream Party.

A party that throws out the ideologies of helping all people because they can’t help themselves and helping only business and those with the riches . . . I want someone to lead us on a path of the righteous, because it’s the right thing to do not because someone says it is. I believe in a Progressive and Moderate, middle ground.

I believe in healthcare for everyone, college for everyone, no one should go hungry. How about tax deductions for everyone same as business? For things like college, healthcare, gas . . . Workers are assets to this country, why don’t they treat us that way? . . . How about six weeks vacation each and every year. How about never having to worry about retirement? What if we truly meant war only at as a last resort? PEACE should always be our goal.

BRING EM HOME . . .

You don’t think it’s possible? Maybe not today, but we’re not even working toward any of it. Money has whored our thoughts, stolen them from any hope of tomorrows yet to come. Dreams are yours to share . . . The Party of the future, The Dream Party, where the American Dream Can Live Again.

What's Presidential . . .

What’s Presidential?

What is Presidential, anyway? What values should a President have? What does integrity mean? What’s virtue? Are they just words or do they suggest an innate wisdom to do what’s right?

What does it mean when someone wins the Nobel Peace Prize? Should it mean anything to us?

Would a Great CEO make a great President?

No necessarily . . . A Good President has to walk a tight wire for he is the leader of all his people. Favoritism can not be tolerated. A Good leader must hold himself accountable . . . If a leader of another country acted as we our now, we would turn our backs on them.

The next President has insurmountable problems to fight and the deck is stacked . . . So who in their right mind would want to bang their head against this rock for the next four years with hopes of another four?

Democrats will try to fix things that have been decimated? Will a Republican just continue to dismantle the Federal Government . . . ? But what will happen to us? Privatization will costs all of us . . . Elimination of the so call entitlements will put the burden on the states . . . Hey, that’s us again . . . And do you think any of us will pay less Federal Taxes any time soon? Yea . . . Think again, the War will be paid for, taxes will go up for every one . . . Thank you, Mr. President. . . . BRING EM HOME . . .

And the States, well their going in a disastrous direction, all for less at what gains? Are you willing to not have library buildings, school buildings? Are you ready to go back to gravel roads? Less Government means, less infrastructure costing more. Do you like public restrooms? They gotta go and you won’t be able to. The Brave Few.

What If Little Boy George Doesn’t Leave . . .

What makes you think that Bush is leaving at the end of his term? What if he doesn’t?

Who’s going to stop him? Everyone has given away the power . . . We’re in a war, wartime powers, right? No one has humbled this man. No one has been able to stop him. He’s classified everything . . . There’s not a shed of evidence that anyone can use in court to convict him of anything.

So what makes you think he’s going to leave at the end of his term? The Constitution. You mean the same document he took an oath to uphold . . . Did he uphold it or did he tear out the Bill of Rights and stomp on it with the Patriot Act?

Have you read the Constitution and Patriot Act?

What if our frightful faithful leader won’t give up his throne? He is the commander and chief of the Military. He has stacked the Supreme Court and won his election there. He has gone to war on a lies, his own lies . . . I remember those days leading up to shock and awe. The Iraqi Ambassador tried to meet with Bush, he wouldn’t see the man . . . The Iraqi’s were destroying five to ten of their missiles a day and that was not good enough.

No one has stopped him, maybe slowed him, but never ever beat him. He has successfully stopped the war banter in the media, there’s no real objective, investigative media. It just doesn’t exist any longer.

And so, don’t be shocked if he just doesn’t leave at the end of his term . . . BRING EM HOME . . . The Brave Few

I Want A Gun Toting Politician

I want a gun toting politician who’s a gonna take back our town, take us back to where we was . . . Before this burning Bush got to town.

This high Plains drifter needs to drift on out, back to the rock in which he crawled . . . GO ON HOME MISTER; YOU’RE NOT WANTED IN THIS TOWN.

We need a gunslinger who’s here for GOOD rather than the evil this one’s brought with him – Together we can move this mountain of dung out of here.

We need a gun toting mountain of a man, the likes I’m not rightfully sure . . . Maybe the likes of an Obama, an Edwards or maybe even another Clinton . . . Only this time they need to know where the butter comes from that their spreading . .

Stop this SHIT now; send all the Skull and Crossbones home. We don’t need Political Hacks, and institutes of Poly-BS, close them down as subversives, all of EM . . . Send home the money toting criminals lobbying for favors, big business and big money, cast them out on their BUTTS or hang them from the nearest tree.

We need a sheriff that’s not talking out both sides of his mouth. Needs to roll up his sleeves and pitches in . . . And above all that gunslinger must, It's time to BRING EM HOME . . . End this SHIT called Iraq.

Now Marion Jones may go to jail, she has already lost her medals and maybe a million dollars, Michael Vick has to give back a twenty million dollar signing bonus. O.J. won the murder conviction, lost the civil case. Civil Case what the heck, when did we go nuts? Where’s it going to end?

We sent Martha to jail for lying under oath, Libby gets commuted by King George the silly, Paris serves her time, Imus, gets thrown off MSNBC . . . What hypocrites we seem to be?

I wonder was this what our forefathers intended? I can tell you, but I’m sure you’ve got better things to do . . . So let me tell you a story instead.

Andy is a sheriff of a small berg of a town. Barney is his faithful sidekick . . . Andy has to go away for a few days and leaves Barney as acting Sheriff . . .

When Andy returns, the town seems quiet enough outside the police station . . . But when Andy opens his office door pandemonium erupts. It seems Barney has arrested everyone in the town . . . Aunt Bea for inciting a riot on the steps of the courthouse, the mayor for vagrancy, Otis for not being able to walk a straight line without his glasses, the sheriffs son because there was no one to watch him with Aunt Bea in jail . . . And every one crammed together.

Andy has a message for us . . . Sometimes you have to let people walk the line or you’ll end up jailing everyone. The Brave Few.

What are they thinking?

Today, CSPAN was showing a repeat from Oct 2, or 3 hearing. The head of Blackwater was testifying in front of a Senate Panel . . . And most of the Senators thanked him . . . And today more Iraq’s were killed by a group of unknown contractors . . . This time two women were killed. Iraq’s want the contractors to be tried in Iraqi courts . . . And they want Blackwater to pay, 8 million dollars to each of 17 families . . . That’s 136 million dollars in retributions . . . Folks who do you think will pay that?

At some point our Government needs to come clean . . . Never have we used thugs to fight an American War. At some point those contractors will become our Achilles heal . . .

Ironically, Achilles was a warrior for hire, who was allegedly brought down by a wound to his heal.

And I wonder . . . The CEO said his firm was Americans fighting for America, right . . . They maybe Americans, but their not fighting for me, they are fighting for a buck, killing for a buck.

And all the Senators on both sides of the isle have always known and just weren’t talking to the American people . . . But now they play dumb. So many excuses have been used . . . But how did this all happen? Now they’re saying this isn’t even a war . . . So were back in Vietnam after all.

What are they thinking? They want us to believe that the Democrats will end the war, change things . . . What a load of crap. They gave the President war time powers, without even questioning why he needed it. And all the checks were taken away. And the American people are in the dark, you know, blind and feeling around for the truth . . . We kind of know, but no one is saying. Why?

My Opinion . . .
Remember Anthrax? That was a CIA venture to thwart those that wouldn’t readily go to war . . . The media, the democrats . . . With this administration any thing goes. Anything for the motherland . . . Oops, I mean homeland. The Brave Few . . .

Black Water Killers For Hire

What’s the big deal? Why doesn’t this administration just hand Black Water their walking papers?

This is not the French Foreign Legion . . . These are the dogs of war, mercenaries and they hire to the highest bidder on either side. Hand them their walking papers?

Bush can’t . . . He has gutted all Government Agencies. They are standing down, failing because Bush believes Government is bad. So he wants them to look bad . . . A win, win for his cause.

When is failure viewed as a good thing? When the thing you are running is the thing you hate.

So when will my fellow Republicans realize that Government is there to stay? If you destroy bits of it, it will come back with bigger than before . . . Privatization costs tax payers more, free trade costs more, entitlements cost more . . .

I am a Republican and this is just BS . . . Privatization at any cost is evil. And it hurts Americans, looking for the American Dream. Mr. Bush should be careful, because the people are fickle . . . They will turn on him and he might just find himself jailed . . .

I’m sure we could find a prison ship to put him on . . . Remember Benedict Arnold? The Brave Few.

Something Shouts Out To Me

Something shouts out to me . . . If the man we elected goes insane, how do we stop him?

I’m not saying that’s the case, but if it was to happen, how do we stop the free fall? Would Congress act or would they just think it was all part of the everyday act?

This is scary to me . . . I don’t know about you but for the first time ever this has come to mind . . . What if?

I’ve always thought our system was the best in the world, that is until 9-11 and then I saw something I thought could never happen . . . We let the Fox into the hen house, now were losing chickens. How did this happen? Easy . . .

One, the Republicans held the Presidency and both the Senate and the House. Who held both, didn’t matter, it would had the same abuse of power if it was reversed . . . Power can’t be held unchecked.

Two, the Congress was created to give the people a voice . . . Not just some of the people . . . And Congress wasn’t, isn’t and maybe never have been doing their jobs. The Republicans thought because they held both Congress and the Presidency, that they shared the same agenda? Sorry, no one thinks the same, ever . . . And so they gave the President more war time powers and now there’s no way to stop him . . . I wouldn’t give my own father that power, not unchecked.

Three, when they could have, they didn’t act . . . Censorship, Impeachment is all there is to shackle a rouge administration . . . Everyone fears the aftermath of impeachment. And no one wants another Vietnam or a flavor left by its aftermath . . . But were here and we need a sheriff or a gunslinger, as John Fogerty sings . . .

Someone fearless, willing to BRING EM HOME, to end this war and do what’s right for all Americans. Now, I didn’t say, for those that came here illegally . . . We will solve their problems after our own . . . After, we solve the healthcare CRAP, universal is the only way . . . Guess what, you’ve already paid for and never gotten it. After College is paid for all Americans, after we not let anyone go hungry . . . No one should, not in America. After we build a parachute for retirement for all Americans, after we give six weeks of vacation to our workers, so they don’t burn out and drop out. After we rebuild of manufacturing and drop out of the Globalization CRAP . . . Why does everyone want us to import their products? We once had the largest Spendable Income in the world . . .

And so the money lovers, they want you to believe we have to be part of the Global CRAP . . . Not true. Let’s fix what’s broken here, before we try and fix the world . . . George go home to Crawford or Dubai or where ever you’re going to live . . .

Sorry, I got off track . . . I am a Republican, what happened to my party? Where did this CRAP about entitlements come from, I mean the hate. Sure we pay too many taxes, but so does every modern industrial country in the world today. And you know something, they have more than we could possible ever dream of. I have paid my own way, college, house, vacations, son with cancer, and so what entitlement is too much? Helping those without? That’s nuts . . . Today we have more homeless than ever. More people without jobs, sure the stats say something else, they always do. But just travel the roads in the U.S. go from city to city and open your eyes. It’s sad to see a woman holding a child with a sign. I’ll work for food . . .

Maybe it’s not the entitlements that we fear maybe it’s that others will get more than us . . . The Brave Few.

Privatization Is Such A Sham . . .

This administration’s slash and burn policies have gutted every Governmental Program . . . And the American people are hurting, privatization doesn’t work. Without a Government protecting the people, there isn’t a Government. Everyone thinks George’s father is upset with his son, right . . .

What has this president done . . . Under a guise, he has given this country to the rich. Capitalization doesn’t work for everyone. Globalization doesn’t work for the best market in the world. Illegal Immigration doesn’t work for all American’s just the top ten percent. The patriot act leaves out the bill of rights, the laws that protect the labor of our once great country . . . And he’s hired thugs, dogs of war. And Congress is powerless . . .

Take away the laws for the people and abuse runs amok.

The Unit . . .

The Unit . . .

I have a fear, a deep seated fear. I love my country and despise those that have misled us. The other day I was watching, The Unit on T.V. Sure it’s fiction, but what if?

A member of the unit was taken to a ship in the middle of the ocean for interrogation and beaten . . . Those that died, were thrown into the ocean.

My fear is that our leaders are not following the guidelines and laws we’ve setup. They use American Contractors because they don’t have to follow the rules that our soldiers have to. And our leaders in Congressional Fact Finding brought the head of Blackwater in front of them and they thanked him for his service to the country . . .

I would like to tell them;

Honorable members of the United States Congress, we have paid this organization greatly for their services . . . Their sacrifices aren’t because they believe in this administrations policy or in the United States but because of greed.

Throughout history, mercenaries have been used to fight a country’s battles, why? Because they fight for whom ever pays them the most. And they’ve been called the dogs of war . . . Ever wonder why?

Dogs eat anything, they will do anything.

And our leaders do this under our watch . . . And today our President’s signature has been linked to a torture directive. We now know how high the prison torture command goes . . . Our soldiers went to prison following commands.

I fear this win at any cause attitude is going to be our demise. It is ruining our nation . . . Did you vote for this policy? I didn’t . . . I want my vote back. I want this to go away. I want to be proud again . . . I believe in the Constitution, the Geneva Convention and in a basic human goodness . . . I have to believe because the other way makes it too easy to push the button . . .

Sometimes I feel I’m all alone.

I get comments, all the time saying, stop bitching, saying what are you going to do? You’re not telling us anything, we don’t already know . . . No. I’m not.

What can any of us do? The Brave Few.

Blackwater’s Back Wash . . .

Merc’s, contractors, killers for hire . . . What ever you call them . . . And our Senators thank their CEO for their service to our country . . . Iraq has 180,000 contractors. There are more contractors than American service men and women. Before Iraq is over they will have spent a trillion dollars . . . Not a billion but a trillion . . .

And our service men and women get s**t, but we pay contractors, 1200 dollars a day . . . And the CEO said nothing but good things about our service people . . . Sure he would, wouldn’t you if your organization was being paid so well . . .

What if we had 180,000 advocates for peace instead of military contractors? We must want war, don’t you think?

What if we had 180,000 Gandhi’s? What if we truly did what we say, war only as a last means, what if?

I wonder if how many missionaries 1200 dollars a day would buy. Twelve, thirty . . . I’m sure it would be a lot.

Blackwater, Amway’s big brother . . .

I have a fear. When I was young I watched the men in white shirts, black suits and those narrow black ties, spew their lies . . . From the fear of the Communist Threat to the lies of Tonkin . . . Somehow everyone thinks it was better then. It wasn’t, fear was everywhere . . .

Nothing ever changes, we just keep putting new idiots in charge . . . Does it make any sense to vote in a President that has virtually no experience? Of course it doesn’t . . . Business would never put a child in command of their super corporations, why do we?

And you know why? Because victory shouldn’t be the only cause to stay . . . What is victory when it includes force? Short lived at most because it comes with a vengeance . . . You see everyone that is killed will be at the hands of the U.S. The blame will be ours and we will pay, our children will have to pay. For what, pride?

We need strong leaders to do the right thing, simply because it is the right thing. Not because of pressures. So often they forget they work for us . . . They need to BRING EM HOME . . .

I’m not as concerned with the monies spent on this war, I’m concerned for our own soldiers, our sons and daughters and what they will have to live with . . . Not all casualties are ever counted. The ugliness that hides deep in the recesses, haven’t yet raised their heads . . . They sit waiting for just the right moment and then they’ll pounce. And the baggage will consume our brave soldiers, it always does.

And now we’re discussing Blackwater . . . Contractors, why now? Why not with the prison problem or four years ago? Because the American People found out . . . Both Democrats and Republicans knew and they never told us. I have a problem with a privatized army for hire and so should you . . . It smells similar to the German SS . . . And there were hints and we ignored them. Turned away, they’d never do it to us . . . Right. The Brave Few.

Blogging for Tomorrow’s Light . . .

Blogging has become the new voice in the world. In the 60’s and 70’s they marched with picket signs . . . Today we blog. And we blog for so many differing reasons and it has become our voice. In the late sixties the world was in chaos, no one wanted the change that was taking hold all around us. They called them hippies and the power base was called establishment, the man . . .

We remember the time, all the bad, the negative, drugs, free love, long hair and anti-American cults. Most think it was solely brought on by a war and conscription . . . Partly, but partly it was brought on by an attitude of following blindly and those many just wouldn’t sign up for that . . .

Today the world is just as chaotic, just as messed up . . . Sure I would love to hide in my office, sure I would love to write of mystic worlds and promises . . . But I have to do what’s in my heart and blogging is calling for me, calling for my voice, my thoughts and just maybe someone will read . . . And maybe someone will pickup their own pen and carry the torch for tomorrow’s light . . . The Brave Few . . . Dreams are yours to share.

The Good, The Bad and Our Leaders . . .

In a perfect world, I would be writing less intensive words . . . But we live in colorful times. Sorry for the tripe. We’ve lived in colorful times before, another time, another meaningless war. Iraq is crap . . .

All I really have to say, BRING EM HOME . . .

I’m not sure how we ever believed the lies going into this tragedy . . . But we did and now we have to do what’s right, BRING EM HOME.

Our leaders, they won’t . . . Who cares for what reason? Our sons and daughters are dying. It’s not their choice, but some rich politician sitting safely behind a desk. And the Generals know, it’s all a farce . . . They can’t say unless they are ready to retire. And the media, well they’re all bought by big money . . . Where has the truth gone?

I WILL NOT VOTE FOR ANYONE THAT WON’T END THIS WAR . . . BRING EM HOME.

And we believe this war is over OIL . . . Right. The truth it’s over money and power as always. War is money, makes money for those selling arms, services and bodies to fight. Oh and it sells policies . . . While we’re watching the war, we don’t see our leaders gutting our country.

Have our leaders eliminated the healthcare problem? No why? Have they invested in education for the people, college? No? Have they helped the homeless transition back into society? No? Have they made the retirement burden easier on the American Elderly? No? . . . BRING EM HOME.

Their answer is to legalize those that come into the country illegally . . . Does this get us any closer to healthcare? College for all? Easing the retirement burden? Transition of the homeless? No, no, no . . .

To be honest . . . Our leaders don’t know what the problems are. They think Globalization is a good thing. Only in the long range, but that’s after the American market place is destroyed . . . That’s the destruction of the greatest market in the world. That’s crap you say . . . Right. The American Market depends on American Spendable Incomes and their dwindling . . . Globalization means cheaper labor and cheaper goods . . . That doesn’t mean higher profits . . . Do the math AND BRING EM HOME. The Brave Few.

My Niece's Husband . . .

My Niece’s Husband . . . The Brave Few

He’s a pilot in the Guard. Soon he’ll take a mission to a war zone to pickup a cargo . . . His mission has reached deep into his soul. I saw the pain on his face and in his words. I told him, his mission could be worse.

Where he’s going I won’t say. His cargo is wounded American boys and girls . . . Our sons and daughters, our fallen soldiers. My tears are now streaming down my cheeks . . . I’ve seen all this before, I hate war.

Sure there was a little fear in his eyes, but it was grief I saw . . . A friend of his was sent to Iraq. He was only supposed to be there six months. Then it was twelve. He’s been there fifteen months. Our soldiers are beginning to think we’ve forgotten them . . .

I Have Not Forgotten. I will never forget them. Have you?

Yesterday I made a pledge, not to vote for any Presidential Candidate that didn’t Promise To Bring The Iraq War To The End . . . AND BRING OUR TROOPS HOME!!! Please sign the pledge at Give Peace a Vote . . . How about you?

I'm Mad As Hell . . .

I’m Mad As Hell . . .

Someone left me a note telling me I’m not saying anything that everyone doesn’t already know . . . Then why the hell aren’t you upset?

What we’re going through has all been done before, over and over again. So why aren’t we all upset? Why aren’t we marching, writing letters and just plain mad?

Its privatization VS socialization, I have no use for either . . . We need to be somewhere in between, only our so called leaders are no longer happy in the barren middle wasteland.

The Democrats want the Illegal emigrants to be legal. They say they say they want to end the war and yet they don’t pull funding, they don’t stall congress until our troops are brought home . . . Rather they put forth do nothing time stalling bills for hate crimes . . . No one likes persecution of any kind, but in the states, each one has laws that cover hate crimes as does the military. And so we create more meaningless political positioning.

While the Republicans push for privatization . . . Military, ports, stock markets, libraries, post office, the police, etc., etc. That means paying for everything and paying their price not yours . . . Why has heating costs sky rocketed? Remember Enron? Privatization . . . Small business uses Illegal Labor, they don’t want legalization, they like the cheap labor, you figure . . .

Our leaders are all the same and I just don’t know which one is worse . . . We need leaders to realize, the purses are dwindling, the war is a cash cow. We don’t have in the United States anymore, we don’t have manufacturing. Our farms are being sold to other countries, toll roads to other countries, ports to other countries . . . To The Kingdom . . . Who is the Kingdom, Google it and see.

I wonder who will buy Glacier National Park or Yellow Stone or the Washington Memorial? Who will buy Arlington? The Vietnam Wall? I wonder how much the Grand Canyon will go for? Why can trucks cruise across our borders unburdened? Why does the DHS board buses and look for Illegal Aliens and never do a thing? It’s a sham . . . All of it.

Globalization is a sham for the rich to sell us out, to out source labor to the cheapest source.

What ever happened to FEMA, the FDA, the SEC? They’ve gone the way of privatization, gutted and made into a political tool for the administration.

But if things continue, we’ll be building again, because we won’t be able to import our goods from China, etc. We’ll be fighting them and the rest of the world.
