Sacrifices . . . It doesn’t matter whether the sacrifice was intentional or not. Sacrifice is giving of oneself, looking beyond one interests for others . . . Heroes are everywhere, if we look.
Jesus, Abraham Lincoln, Gandhi, Dali Lama, Mother Theresa, John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Robert Kennedy and any fallen soldier . . .
In Germany at the close to the end of WWII, a man, a soldier worked to end the great conflict. In a failed attempt he conspired to end the war. He was known as the desert fox and Hitler had him put to death.
And today heroes are walking among us . . . Several years ago, a country band spoke out against a war, and so many turned their backs on them for speaking out. Why?
When has it become wrong to speak your piece? So many would have you believe, they got what they deserved . . . So many threw out their CD’s, shunned them at every turn.
To say you’re ashamed of a President, ashamed of a Country had became the Dixie Chicks Achilles heal . . . Achilles was a mighty Greek soldier, who beat every opponent until as legend has it was brought down by a wound to his foot. And they have fought the fight that all of us should have fought . . . They are heroes, they have given so much and still give.
That was almost five years ago and the war is still going on, the fighting and the dying. For what, lies?
When do we hold our President, our government accountable for the sacrifices of the brave few?
