Now Marion Jones may go to jail, she has already lost her medals and maybe a million dollars, Michael Vick has to give back a twenty million dollar signing bonus. O.J. won the murder conviction, lost the civil case. Civil Case what the heck, when did we go nuts? Where’s it going to end?

We sent Martha to jail for lying under oath, Libby gets commuted by King George the silly, Paris serves her time, Imus, gets thrown off MSNBC . . . What hypocrites we seem to be?

I wonder was this what our forefathers intended? I can tell you, but I’m sure you’ve got better things to do . . . So let me tell you a story instead.

Andy is a sheriff of a small berg of a town. Barney is his faithful sidekick . . . Andy has to go away for a few days and leaves Barney as acting Sheriff . . .

When Andy returns, the town seems quiet enough outside the police station . . . But when Andy opens his office door pandemonium erupts. It seems Barney has arrested everyone in the town . . . Aunt Bea for inciting a riot on the steps of the courthouse, the mayor for vagrancy, Otis for not being able to walk a straight line without his glasses, the sheriffs son because there was no one to watch him with Aunt Bea in jail . . . And every one crammed together.

Andy has a message for us . . . Sometimes you have to let people walk the line or you’ll end up jailing everyone. The Brave Few.
